    khts_sportsRunners took top stage in the world of Santa Clarita sports in 2011. The Saugus girls cross country team set a standard in the state that will be tough to beat. The Centurions won their sixth CIF state title in a row. No other cross country team in the state, boys or girls, has won six state titles in a row. The Golden Valley boys cross country team won its first CIF state championship in school history.

    SCV Youth Project's Mission More Important Than Ever

    SCV_Youth_ProjectThe Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project has served the students of the valley for 11 years and their mission may be more valuable than ever with the arrest of two local young men accused of sexual crimes with minors.

    On October 12, 25-year-old Casey Crockett was taken into custody and later charged for Lewd Acts Upon A Child for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old boy in the restroom at the Westfield Town Center Mall.

    Two Men Arrested For Burglary And Grand Theft

    khts_crimeAt 6:30 this morning, two Sylmar men were arrested for burglarizing two cars and stealing from a construction site according to Sheriff’s deputies.  Daniel Santrini, 28, and Brian Martinez, 19, were spotted breaking into a car by a resident outside of his home on Garzota Street in Saugus early this morning.  The resident reported the pair’s license plate number and they were caught by Sheriff’s deputies a short while later near Via Princessa and Golden

    Fire Causes $85,000 Damage To Stevenson Ranch Home

    Firefighters forced their way into an unoccupied  home in Stevenson Ranch on Friday morning to extinguish flames that ignited in the garage.

    The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials at the scene said their preliminary assessment indicated it was electrical in nature.

     

    UPDATED: Man Found Dead At Chevron Station On Bouquet Canyon Road

    This morning, the body of 53-year-old unidentified male was found outside the Chevron Station on Bouquet and Newhall Ranch Road.  Employees of the station found him lying outside his Gold Mercury Grand Marquis, unresponsive and bleeding from his head.

    UPDATED: Fire Near College Of The Canyons On Sierra Highway

    UPDATED on Friday at 12:34 p.m.

    The Los Angeles County Fire Department has reported that the fire on Sierra Hightway has been knocked down.  Two acres were burned. 

    A hillside fire has been reported on Sierra Highway near Linda Vista Street and the campus of College of the Canyons.  Los Angeles  County Fire has reported no evacuations and no buildings threatened.
