Bring A Toy, Get In Free At Six Flags Magic Mountain

SixFlagsHolidaygateFor the next two weekends, Six Flags Magic Mountain invites the community to come to the park and get into the spirit of the season of giving.

Anyone bringing a new, unwrapped toy worth at least $20 will be given free admission to the park on Saturday and Sunday Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11. Make sure to include the price tag and/or receipt with the donated toy.

Action Receives Certification By State

Valencia Boys Basketball Team Opens With Win In Simi Valley Tip-Off

khts_sportsThe Valencia boys basketball team worked a little overtime in the Simi Valley Tip-Off against Chatsworth. Zach Davis scored a career-high 32 points and led four Vikings in double figures in a 91-86 overtime win over Chatsworth in the opening round of the Simi Valley tournament.

Davis also had 10 rebounds and Troy Hammel had 17 points.

Dr. Conrad Murray Gets Maximum Sentence, 4 Years

Conrad_MurrayLos Angeles (CNN) -- Dr. Conrad Murray was sentenced Tuesday to four years in jail -- the maximum sentence allowed under the law -- in the death of Michael Jackson.

Judge Michael Pastor, in a lengthy statement delivered before sentencing Murray for involuntary manslaughter, said he felt a significant responsibility to determine the appropriate sentence, utilizing his "sense of fairness and decency."

People stop to look for a new friend, or stop to leave an animal because it doesn’t “work” with their family, often bidding them a tearful farewell. Some stop on a regular basis to make donations of goods and services.

Then there are those who stop and stay awhile – the strong core of the shelter volunteers.

Black Thanksgiving Good For Economy

Dollar_SymbolBlack Friday spending was up, especially when you include Black Saturday, Black Sunday and the brand new Black Thanksgiving in the whole mix.

Total spending over the four-day weekend reached a record $52.4 billion, up 16 percent from $45 billion last year, according to the National Retail Federation.

Local Men Jailed For Money Laundering And Fraud Charges
