Sunny Safe Place Needed For Twenty Somethings With Special Needs

erinwalgamuth_copyLast week, Erin Walgamuth received a letter from Medi-Cal stating that on December 1, all Adult Day Care Facilities in California are closing.

 

 

 

 

For six hours a day Walgamuth’s 30 year old daughter with special needs is able to enjoy activities at the Santa Clarita Adult Day Care center. That allows her daughter to have stimulating interaction and her parents to continue working.

That is ending.

County Moves To Charge New Communities For Sewer Maintenance

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to take the first step Tuesday to start charging homeowners in Tesoro Del Valle, Fair Oaks Ranch, West Creek and other newly developed parts of the Santa Clarita Valley – and other new communities throughout the county – for sewer maintenance.

Eight Local Semifinalists For National Merit Scholarship

William_S_Hart_district_copy_copyEight local high school seniors have been named Semifinalists for the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors qualify as semifinalists which include the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

“Out of 1.5 million students who take the qualifying test every year there’s about 16,000 semifinalists,” said Eileen Artemakis, Director of Public Information.

WorkSource Center Holding Job Fair This Friday

City To Hold Lyons Avenue Corridor Planning Meeting
