My friend Lilian is an accomplished nature photographer, so the opening line of her email immediately caught my attention:  “This was the first time I have ever seen anything like this.”  I clicked through to her photo album and quickly discovered what she meant.  Her e-mail was, if anything, an understatement.

Castaic To Take The Big Plunge Thanks To Supes

mom_kid_in_pool240An aquatics center inspired by the City of Santa Clarita's municipal plunge will be open in just two short summers, after the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $9.6 million contract with Perera Construction & Design Inc. to build the first phase of a state-of the-art aquatic center at the Castaic Regional Sports Complex.

1)  Castaic Lake....The striped bass continue to boil all over the lake!  These are mostly 2 - 5 pound fish.  Good action on the bluegill and catfish, mostly in the coves.
Crappie fishing has been slower than last week.

First Day Of Fall Brings Prevention Fair

West Ranch Girls Golf Team Snaps Hart's Four-Year League Winning Streak

khts_sportsThe West Ranch girls golf team won the first Foothill League match of the season and snapped Hart’s four-year winning streak in league matches.

West Ranch won its first league match in school history shooting a 223 as a team. Valencia was second at 238.

West Ranch’s Julie Ward and Hart’s Kendell Dusenberry shot the low rounds of the match, 1-over par 38s at the Woodley Lakes Golf Course in Van Nuys.

Hart Board Member, Arts Commissioner Paul Strickland Announces Intent To Run For Assembly
