More than 91 percent of tenth graders in the William S. Hart Union High School District passed the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) on their first try, according to figures released today by the California Department of Education.  The performance of Hart District students matches last year’s and far outpaces the performance of their county and state peers.

It was a great night for the Dodgers and their offense as the dominated the Cardinals Tuesday night and win game two in the series. The Dodger's batting was on fire as they scored eight runs within the first three innings. Matt Kemp hits his 30th home run for the season while Rod Barajas hits two home runs in the 3rd and 5th innings. Aaron Miles would top it off in the 9th inning when he hit a two run home run in which Andre Ethier would score a run.

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the East Coast at 1:51 p.m. ET, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake’s epicenter was 4 miles southwest of Mineral, Virginia.

"It's one of the largest that we've had there," said U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Lucy Jones. Aftershocks were a concern. "People should be expecting (them), especially over the next hour or two," she added.
