Henry Mayo's New Helipad Approved For Touchdown

Artist BiJian Featured At Artist Gathering In September

BiJianPhotoThe Santa Clarita Artists’ Association will host a presentation by Chinese artist BiJian who will demonstrate metal and paper sculpture combined with origami. His program is entitled “Paper On Water, It's Magic!”



This event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on September 19 at Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Valencia. It is free to the public and light refreshments will be served.

Campbell compiled a 3-17 record in two seasons as the head coach of the Golden Valley football team. The Grizzlies were 3-7 last year. Campbell was 0-10 against Foothill League opponents.

Antonovich Calls For County Pension Analysis

antonovich_signFifth district Supervisor Michael Antonovich is calling for an independent analysis of the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) and the Retiree Insurance Benefit Program.

At Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting the County Auditor-Controller will be asked to hire an independent firm which specializes in actuarial studies to offer an opinion and analysis on the accounting and actuarial methodologies of both programs.

Ever Changing Wall Changing Arts Education

arttree_wallThe Ever Changing Wall will be hard to miss: a giant, black and white photo mural with children’s faces 12 feet tall, stretching 130 ft long.

And it’s coming to Newhall tomorrow.

The wall, sponsored by the local non-profit organization ARTree, will feature pictures of 13 children from the Newhall Community Center and the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita.
