August 8, 2011 Dodgers Lose To Phillies 5-3

Tonight, the Dodgers were back home and faced the Philadelphia Phillies for the first of three games at Dodgers Stadium. The Phillies scored early in the first inning and scored additional runs in the second, seventh and ninth innings. L.A. scored in fifth and eighth innings but came up short and lost 5 to 3.

 

The Dodgers and Phillies meet again on Tuesday for game two and you can catch the game live beginning at 6:30 PM on AM-1220 KHTS!

 

 

Doug Swaim Dies After Cancer Battle

His wife, Darlene, said that he’d been in the hospital’s intensive care unit for 26 days and that initially, they had hoped to bring him home, “but that was not to be.”

UPDATED: Four Lanes Of 14 Freeway Closed Due To Non-Injury Accident In Agua Dulce

All lanes of the 14 freeway are cleared and traffic is proceeding smoothly through the area of an earlier crash at Agua Dulce Canyon Road.

Three northbound and one southbound lane of the 14 freeway just north of Agua Dulce Canyon Road were closed at the peak of rush hour after a big rig went through the center divider and was straddling the K-rail.

Hart PONY Baseball Team Wins Mustang World Series

khts_sportsThe Hart PONY baseball team won the Mustang World Series, downing Caguas from Puerto Rico, 7-2, in the championship game.

Caguas had a 2-0 lead in the third inning when Hart scored four runs in the bottom of the frame. Hart tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning and cruised the rest of the way in the title game in Texas.

Hart won the Mustang World Series for the fourth time. The last time Hart won the Mustang World Series was in 2009.
