    August 29, 2011 Dodgers Over Padres 4-1

    Monday, the Dodgers welcomed the San Diego Padres to Dodgers Stadium for game one of a three game series. The Dodgers scored runs in the first, third and fourth innings with San Diego scoring one run in the the forth. The Dodgers went on to defeat the Padres 4 to 1. Dodgers Pitcher Clayton Kershaw won his ninth straight game at home and 17th overall.

    Drowning Doesn't Discriminate Taught At Pool Safety Expo

    Solar Canopy Sheds Light On Future Savings

    8_29_Boxer_WD__0157The Santa Clarita City Council welcomed U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer to the dedication of a Solar Canopy at the Transit Maintenance Facility.

    Mayor Marsha McLean called this event an important milestone and thanked Boxer for visiting even though she has 36 million other constituents. Boxer corrected McLean saying she actually has 38 million constituents, which perhaps makes the honor even greater.

    Two more dry ice bombs exploded in the neighborhood behind Granary Square in Valencia Sunday night, according to sheriff’s officials, bringing the weekend total for “bomb” discoveries to four.

    UPDATED: Valencia Driver Seriously Injures Cyclists In Lancaster

    Sheriff's official have corrected information released Saturday night, which had misidentifed a couple injured in a cycling ride in Lancaster as Valencia residents.

    The couple, identified as Nathan and Deborah Rippee of Lancaster, were part of a group of about 20 riders involved in a ride organized by a Lancaster bicycle shop.

    Valencia's Connor Cantrell Wins 2nd Straight NASCAR Super Trucks Race

    khts_sportsConnor Cantrell of Valencia won the NASCAR Super Trucks race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale and padded his lead slightly in the Super Trucks standings at the track.

    Cantrell won his second race in a row, taking the lead from Ryan Partridge of Rancho Cucamonga on the final lap.

    Partridge is 10 points behind Cantrell in the Super Trucks standings.
