Kings Get Mike Richards In Draft

sportskingsThe Los Angeles Kings have acquired center Mike Richards from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forwards Wayne Simmonds, Brayden Schenn and a second round draft selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

 

The Kings communications department will soon announce details of Richards’ introductory media conference call and a potential news conference featuring Richards next week in Los Angeles .

Two New Assistant Principals Coming To Santa Clarita

Two new junior high school assistant principals, Chad Powell and Melanie Hagman, have been announced by the Hart School District.

They were approved to be appointed at the Governing Board meeting on June 22, and their new positions are expected to be effective in July.  Their school assignments will be determined in the next few weeks.

Trail Riding Competition For Equestrians

Trail Trials on July 17 at Vasquez Rocks.  Trail Trials are a competition on a marked trail course on mountain trails, park trails, and in desert areas with natural or simulated obstacles that can be found on trails.

LA Kings Trade Wayne Simmonds For Philadelphia Flyers Captain

khts_sportsThe Kings traded popular forward Wayne Simmonds and prospect Brayden Schenn for Mike Richards, the captain of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Richards, a first-round pick of the Flyers in 2003, scored 23 goals and played in 81 regular season games last season.

UPDATED: Small Fire Reported Near Shadow Pines Neighborhood

khts_fireengine5UPDATED 5:03 p.m. - Knockdown has been reported by firefighters in the area of the brush fire on the hill behind 29441 Florabunda Road in Canyon Country.

Sheriff’s units are in the area providing traffic control.

 

 

Inspector Matt Levesque said that the fire is reportedly a half-acre, running uphill.
