    New Green Lantern Ride Offers Great Thrills At Six Flags Magic Mountain

    Mariachi Mystery Tour Part Of Free Concert Series

    mariachimysterytourMariachi Mystery Tour, a group of accomplished mariachi musicians that play a fun and festive repertoire of songs by The Beatles, will perform a free concert Saturday, July 9, on the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) main stage as part of the ongoing SCV World Music Free Concert Series.

     

    Santa Clarita July Fourth Parade Lineup

    4th_July_Parade_WD__0006The 2011 Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade starts at 9 a.m. at Hart Park, travels down Main Street to Lyons, turns left, goes to Orchard Village Road, makes a right, then turns right on 16th Street, disbanding at Newhall Park.

     

    For the first time in several years, there will be an all-high school marching band, the Santa Clarita Valley Unifed Marching Band.

    West Ranch's JJ Holen Falls In Match Play At US Amateur Golf Championship

    khts_sportsWest Ranch graduate JJ Holen advanced to the third round of the US Amateur Public Links golf championship and lost in match play.

    Holen made the cut for the match play portion of the tournament at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon by shooting a 10-over par in the first two rounds. The top-64 players in first 36 holes of stroke play advanced to the match play part of the tournament.

    Holen lost 2 and 1 to Paul McConnell from Garland, Texas.

    Suspect Killed Dog In Jeep, Detectives On Klein Case Say

    Klein_DusanHomicide investigators working the case of Renata Klein, the Canyon Country woman who went missing along with her husband, Dusan, and their dog, Cindy, told KHTS that blood found in the couple’s vehicle appears to be canine and they believe that someone killed the dog.

     

    Renata and Dusan Klein disappeared from their Wildwind Canyon home on June 12. Renata’s body was found along Big Tujunga Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest three days later.

    Legislature Approves Budget That Ditches Redevelopment Agencies, Imposes Internet Tax

    California_State_CapitolCalifornia lawmakers approved an $86 billion budget late Tuesday that imposes deep spending cuts but does not extend tax hikes. Despite optimism on the part of the majority party, the plan is already coming under fire for proposed cuts and it hasn’t even been signed by Governor Jerry Brown.
