UPDATED: Small Brush Fire Closes Two Lanes Of Northbound I-5

Two lanes of the northbound I-5 were closed Monday afternoon due to a small brush fire north of Templin Highway.





Los Angeles County Fire units on the scene report that a half-acre of spotty brush is burning with light winds coming out the south.


Kings Captain Brown Nominated For Foundation Award

This is the third consecutive year Brown has been nominated for the award.

LA County Fire Department Will Begin Preparing For Spring Drills

khts_inthecommunityThe Los Angeles County Fire Department is advising the public that from May 2 through May 4, they will begin preparing for the annual Spring Drills at Wayside Honor Rancho in Castaic.

The preparation will involve preparing the training area for burn operations. This involves very small burns that will widen contingency lines – providing for maximum safety during the actual training operations.

khts_recallsQuinault Tribal Enterprise of Taholah, WA is recalling all canned seafood products including all Salmons, smoked and non-smoked; Tuna, smoked and non-smoked; Smoked Sturgeon; Minced Razor Clams; smoked Razor Clams; and smoked Steelhead. The canned seafood products are being recalled because they were not adequately processed according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's low-acid canned food regulations.

Hart Baseball Team Beats Canyon, Moves Into Tie For First Place

khts_sportsThe Hart baseball team slipped past Canyon, 2-1, and is tied for first place in the Foothill League standings with four games to play.

Steve Rosso drove in two runs with a double in the sixth inning to give Hart a come-from-behind win. Pinch-runner Josh Brown and Baggio Saldivar scored on the double by Rosso.

Canyon took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning on a RBI double by Harry Bennett.
