    Beatles Tribute Show Set May 6 In Newhall

    InMyLife"In My Life – A Musical Theatre Tribute to the Beatles" is the award-winning, smash hit musical biography of the Beatles as seen through the eyes of their manager Brian Epstein and featuring the live music of world renowned tribute band, Abbey Road. The show will be featured for one night only on Friday, May 6 at the Canyon Theatre Guild in Newhall.

     

     

    COC Men's Golf Team Wins Conference Championship

    khts_sportsThe College of the Canyons men’s golf team won the Western State Conference championship for the second year in row.

    COC shot 747, 13 shots ahead of Glendale College, in the two-day conference final tournament at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.

    Aaron West earned conference Player of the Year honors with an average scored of 71.6 in conference tournaments. Derek Larson, James Holley and Alex Macaluso were selected to the all-conference team.

    Trailer Fire Breaks Out In Canyon Country

    On Monday evening, at approximately 5:44 PM, a big-rig trailer caught fire on the 20600 block of Santa Clara Street in front of a recycling facility. Smoke carried across the Canyon Country area prompting a number of phone calls to the KHTS Studios. Los Angeles County Fire officials advised that no structures were threatened and no injuries resulted.

    Council Considers Smyth Legislation To Address Chloride Issue

    waterA solution to the chloride issue could come from Sacramento with legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Cameron Smyth.

    The Santa Clarita City Council is being encouraged to support the legislation as an agenda item in Tuesday’s meeting. The measure, if adopted by the legislature as presented, could help solve the current chloride dilemma facing the valley.

    Monday, the Dodgers continued their road trip with a stop in Miami for game one of a three game series against the Florida Marlins. The Dodgers were leading 4 to 3 in the ninth inning with one strike to go for the Dodgers win when Emilio Bonificio walked on a 3-2 pitch. With the Marlins on first and third, Scott Cousins hit a two-out grounder and Bonfacio scored to tie it 4-4. With bases loaded after Broxton intentionally walked Chris Coghlan, Omar Infante hit a walk-off single giving the Marlins a 5-4 win.
