Cake Batter Recalled For Undeclared Allergen

The Raymond-Hadley Corp. of Spencer, NY is recalling some varieties of Better Batter brand baking mixes, because they may contain the undeclared allergen, milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Better Batter Pancake & Biscuit mixes and Yellow & Chocolate Cake mixes were distributed in the United States and Canada through retail stores, mail order, and direct delivery.

Rotary Club Donates Crucial Books

rotaryThe Rotary Club of Santa Clarita is opening the next chapter in their continued community service to the city with a book donation to the Saugus Union School District.

On May 2, Rotary Club President Barry Gribbons will deliver over 200 books to Michelle Morse, Director of Child Development Programs, at Rio Vista Elementary.

Mary Ann Colf, Community Service Chair for the Santa Clarita Rotary, organized the book drive.

Valencia's Jonathan Chang Takes Lead In First Round Of The Newhall Cup Golf Tournament

khts_sportsValencia’s Jonathan Chang shot a 2-over par 74 to lead the first day of the Newhall Cup golf tournament on a blustery day at the TPC at Valencia.

The two-day tournament, which also doubles as the finals of the Foothill League, continues today. West Ranch won the first round with a team score of 407. JJ Holen shot the low round of the day for West Ranch with  a 4-over par 76.

April 26 2011: Dodgers Lose To Marlins 4-2

The Dodgers could not keep up with the Marlins Tuesday night. The Dodgers scored first with two runs at the top of the 1st and 4th innings. Then the Marlins scored two runs at the bottom of the 2nd and 4th innings. Mike Stanton put the final nail in the coffin as he singles a line drive to right field which the Marlins scored two runs by Chris Coghlan and Hanley Ramirez. The final score was 4-2. Smoking Students Sniffed Out At High Schools

khts_crime_genericFollowing complaints from the residents who live in surrounding neighborhoods, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station Juvenile Team conducted an undercover operation at Golden Valley and Saugus High Schools Tuesday morning.


The operation was targeted at flushing out students who were seen loitering in the streets surrounding the school, smoking cigarettes before, during and after school.
