Valencia's Shane Zeile Hits 2 HRs Against Saugus

khts_sportsValencia’s Shane Zeile came through again with a pair of home runs in the Vikings’ 17-13 win over Saugus. Zeile drove in six runs and scored three. He hit a two-run home run in the third inning. His three-run homer in the fourth gave Valencia a 9-7 lead.

Evan Steen had a nice day at the plate for Saugus, with three hits and two RBIs. Andru Cardenas was 3-for-3 and drove in three runs for Saugus.

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 7-5. After fighting through six and a half tied innings the Dodgers broke out the bats in the bottom of the 7th and took a 7-3 lead. The Giants scored 2 runs in the 8th to tighten the game at 7-5. Jonathan Broxton came in for the save and recorded his 3rd straight save of the season. The Dodgers took the four game series 3-1. Local Kids Invited To Enter Fastframe Art Contest

pallette-3Local children in first through fifth grades are encouraged to create a piece of art based on the theme “My Favorite Fairy Tale” and enter it in Fastframe’s annual Art Contest for Kids.

Entries will be accepted at the local Fastframe store at 24204 Valencia Boulevard (in the Kohl’s center at Valencia and McBean Parkway) from now until May 7.

Japan Fundraiser Set Monday At Chick-fil-A

khts_inthecommunityA fundraiser for a relief organization working in Japan with earthquake and tsunami victims is planned Monday night at Chick-fil-A in Valencia.

Representatives from CRASH, the Christian Relief Assistance Support and Hope group and Asian Access, which are both working in Japan, will be on hand to answer questions about their efforts to help the disaster victims.
