Judge Dismisses Lawsuits Filed By Save Our Library

bookpicA Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has dismissed the two lawsuits filed by Save Our Library against the City of Santa Clarita.  

The lawsuits alleged misconduct on the City’s part in contracting with Library System and Services (LSSI) to manage the Santa Clarita Public Library, due to open July 1.

Driver Killed On SR 14 Due To Wet Roads

khts_ambulanceAt approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, a male driving southbound on State Route 14 near Agua Dulce Canyon Road lost control of his vehicle and was killed.  

According to the California Highway Patrol station in Newhall, the accident was caused by the road’s wet surface. 

The one passenger in the vehicle was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital and treated for various injuries.


Henry Mayo Hospital Offers Free Colorectal Cancer Screenings

khts_healthIn honor of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital will distribute free colorectal cancer screening kits to adults age 50 and greater from March 21 to 25.

Saugus, West Ranch Softball Teams Play For High Desert Classic Championship

khts_sportsThe Saugus and West Ranch softball teams will meet in the championship game of the High Desert Classic in Lancaster today.

Saugus beat Oak Hills, 3-2, and Highland, 5-3, to reach the championship game. Karlee Bickford drove in two runs for Saugus against Oak Hills.

Ashley Butera and Sara Shier each homered in the game against Highland.

Greenbrier Estates Without Power

The Greenbrier Estates will be without power until approximately 3 p.m., according to SoCal Edison spokeswoman Anna Frutos-Sanchez.  

Edison crews arrived this morning to replace a transformer, temporarily cutting off power for 59 residential units.  

The affected area is restricted to the Greenbrier Estates, located on Soledad Canyon Road near Valley Center Drive.

The wonderful thing about this stew is that you can make it your own by adding different spice combinations or anything else that sounds good to you. Many people make this dish with pork instead of chicken, but this one is our favorite.
