    Los Angeles Firefighter Dies After Being Trapped By Ceiling Collapse

    glennallenLos Angeles City Firefighter Glenn Allen has died from injuries suffered in the line of duty on Wednesday.

    Allen, a 38-year veteran of the LAFD, was part of a group of firefighters responding to a structure fire at 1546 North Viewsite Drive in the Hollywood Hills at 11:19 p.m. that night. During the firefighting efforts, a partial ceiling collapse occurred, injuring four LAFD and two Los Angeles County Firefighters.

    The eighth-grader from Sierra Vista Junior High School is heading to the regional county level of the National Scripps Spelling Bee. It’s a feat only 89 out of 19,454 of her peers have achieved in Los Angeles County.
