Mike Penberthy went from being the leading scorer in The Master’s College basketball history to an NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Last night, he became the first player from The Master’s College to have his number retired.
Penberthy, who wore No. 33 when he played for The Master’s College, was on the Lakers team that won the NBA championship in 2001. He spent two seasons with the Lakers and averaged 4.9 points per game.
