Debutantes Celebrate Their Mothers At Mother-Daughter Tea

mother33Tears of joy and laughter were plentiful as the 2010-2011 class of Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Guild’s Silver Rose Debutantes honored their mothers during an annual tea last Sunday.

Held at the home of Guild member Shelley Hann, guests comprised of Guild members, debutantes and their mothers enjoyed a traditional light tea buffet and summer-like weather.

Debutante Heather Lincoln kicked off the presentations in a unique way by singing to her mother, Terri.

The Master's College Baseball Team Sweeps Doubleheader

khts_sportsThe Master’s College baseball team swept a doubleheader against San Diego Christian College. The Mustangs won the first game, 7-4, and the second game, 4-2.

The Master’s College scored four runs in the eighth inning of the first game to rally against San Diego Christian.

JT Adams and Tanner Leighton each homered in the second game. Adams hit a solo shot in the second inning and Leighton added a two-run homer to give The Master’s College a 3-0 lead.

The Kings were able to put together a second in a row win against the Wild in front of the home crowd at Staples Center. Final score: Los Angeles Kings-4, Minnesota Wild-2

Aerial Refueling Tanker Contract Awarded To Boeing, House Armed Services Committee Comments

newBuckThe leaders of the House Armed Services Committee and the panel’s Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee today issued a joint statement in response to the Department of Defense’s announcement that it has selected a provider for the KC-X Aerial Refueling Tanker.

 

Congressional Art Competition Open, Entries Sought

Relay For Life Coming To Castaic

khts_inthecommunity2“We decided Castaic is wonderful place for this. It has the lake, it has great residents, it has great camaraderie and a great community feel,” said Lauren Adams, a senior manager for Relay for Life.

Beginning on May 14 at 9 a.m., Castaic Lake will host its inaugural Relay for Life, the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.
