    A small brush fire is burning near Crown Valley Road just south of Soledad Canyon Road.

    It was reported by the California Highway Patrol shortly before noon.

    UPDATED: Blackout Hits Homes In Sand Canyon

    UPDATE: 1:52 p.m. Power has been restored to all but 11 customers.

    Approximately 1,500 SoCal Edison customers in Sand Canyon were hit by a blackout at 8:22 Friday morning after underground equipment failed at the insection of Kenroy Avenue and Soledad Canyon Road.

    According to SoCal Edison spokeswoman Anna Frutos-Sanchez, water stored in a vault likely caused the failure.

    Valencia Football Team Well Represented On All-CIF Team

    khts_sportsFour football players from Valencia High School made the All-CIF Southern Section Northern Division first team as selected by the Football Coaches Association.

    Running back Steven Manfro, quarterback Alex Bishop and offensive lineman Zach Wermich earned spots on the offensive first team.

    Linebacker Ryan Gorman made the defensive first team.
