SCV Chamber Of Commerce Board Chairman To Receive High Honors

khts_sportsThe Santa Clarita Christian girls soccer team beat Pacifica Christian from Santa Monica, 4-0, on a pair of goals by Colyn Gackenbach. Megan Gallagher notched two assists and Jordan Donohue scored the first goal of her high school career for Santa Clarita Christian.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls improved to 3-0 in Heritage League play.

Small Brush Fire Burns Three Acres in Castaic

khts_fireenginefrontUPDATED 10:12 AM -  A small brush fire burned three acres on a hillside near the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic this morning but was extinguished within an hour.




The fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m. and was located on a hill above the Castaic Animal Shelter, one mile up Charlie Canyon Road near Tapia Canyon Road.

January 13, 2011 Kings Lose To St. Louis 3-2

Thursday, the Los Angeles Kings faced the St. Louis Blues at the Staples Center. The Kings scored just one goal and were unable to ice the Blues. St. Louis snapped their 5 game straight losing streak and defeated the Kings. 3 to 1 was the final. The Kings are one and six and have lost seven of their last eight games.

Deputies Arrest Suspected Drug Dealers In COC Parking Lot

khts_crime_genericTwo potential drug dealers were taken out of circulation, at least temporarily, by local sheriff’s deputies patrolling the parking lot of College of the Canyons.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station's Juvenile Intervention Team took two more suspected drug dealers off the streets on Thursday, January 6.
