UPDATED: Downed Pole, Power Surge Cause Traffic Backup In Newhall

khts_trafficalertUPDATED 4:45 p.m. - Edison is reporting that 481 customers are without power as crews work on replacing the pole. It is unknown when power will be restored. Boundaries of the outage: Newhall Avenue on the north, Meadowridge on the south Valle Del Oro on the west and Shepard Canyon on the east.

4:30 p.m. - All lanes are open on Newhall Avenue.

McKeon And Committee Members Continue Tour

1_28_Buck_WD__0062Congressman Buck McKeon and fellow House Armed Services Committee members continued their tour of military bases on Thursday, this time stopping at Fort Irwin and Air Force Plant 42 in the Mojave Desert.  

“Today we got to see troops training (at Fort Irwin) that are getting ready to go to Afghanistan,” said McKeon, the committee chair.  

May 14 Is Santa Clarita Dodger Day

County Seeks Public Input On Disney Ranch Expansion

County planners are preparing the initial study of The Disney/ABC Studios At The Ranch project, involving the Golden Oak Ranch properties at Placerita and the 14 freeway and are looking for comments and concerns to be included in the first Draft Environmental Impact Report.
