Five Players Ejected From Valencia-West Ranch Boys Basketball Game

khts_sportsThe Valencia boys basketball team beat West Ranch, 67-61, for their second Foothill League win in a row.

Five players were ejected from the game for fighting in the fourth quarter. Among them were Valencia’s Lonnie Jackson, the team’s leading scorer, and West Ranch’s Brian Polynice.

Valencia’s Troy Hammel scored a game-high 15 points, but was one of the players ejected in the fourth quarter. Jackson had 11 points before he was ejected.

Artists Association To Host Reception For Art Exhibit At Barnes and Noble

California Congress Of Republicans Kicks Off Biannual Convention

scvcrlogoThe California Congress of Republicans kicked off it’s 2011 Biannual Convention at the Embassy Suites In Santa Clarita Friday evening. The event is being hosted by both the Santa Clarita Valley and the Hollywood Congress of Republicans.

To a room of about 75 people, California State President Mark Vafiades welcomed the group along with the Presidents of both the Hollywood and Santa Clarita clubs.

Attendance this week is expected to be upwards of 150 members.
