    Happy Paw-Lidays Brings Christmas Cheer To Hopeful Pets

    doginboxBaby, it’s cold outside. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will fall to low 50s along with a fair amount of rain through Tuesday. The wet weather isn’t a problem for any us: just stay inside. Case closed.  

    But for the Santa Clarita Valley’s stray animals, keeping dry, healthy and warm isn’t so easy.  

    Director Of SCV Youth Project And Dancing Partner To Be On Rose Parade Float

    willyingrid2-300x194Kim Goldman, Executive Director of the SCV Youth Project, is putting her dancing shoes on.

    Kim, and her award winning partner from Dancing with Our Stars, Willy Arroyo, will be climbing aboard the Cunard Luxury Cruise Line, "A Grand Celebration at Sea" float, which will be featured in the 121st Rose Parade on New Year's Day.  Goldman, Arroyo, Ingrid Blanco, and Carlos Alberto Solis will dance in the New Year on this spectacular vessel.

    McKeon Issues Statement On Afghanistan

    Raw Milk Cheese Recalled Due To E Coli Contamination

    khts_recallsSally Jackson Cheese of Oroville, WA is recalling all cheese products, including cow, goat, and sheep, because they may be contaminated with Escherichia coli O157:H7 bacteria (E. coli O157:H7). E. coli O157:H7 causes a diarrheal illness, often with bloody stools.

     

    Trinity Boys Basketball Team 4-0 In Omega League

    khts_sportsThe Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team beat Westmark, 50-36, for its fourth win in a row. Trinity is undefeated at 4-0 against Omega League opponents.

    James Brooks scored a team-high 23 points and had 12 rebounds.

    Teammate Jordan Mumper had 17 points, 10 in the fourth quarter.

    The Canyon boys basketball team lost to Notre Dame, 66-50. Coley Apsay scored 15 points.

    December 16 2010: Kings Lose To Blues 6-4

    The Los Angeles Kings lose to the St. Louis Blues 6-4. The Blues proved to be the stronger team tonight. After ending the first and second periods with ties of 1-1 and 4-4, the Blues scored two unanswered goals in the 3rd.     Ferry Out Of Intensive Care, Condition Improved

    frankferrySanta Clarita City Councilman Frank Ferry is out of intensive care and is now in a private room at Providence Holy Cross Hospital.

    Ferry had been in intensive care since Dec. 3 when a post-operative infection caused a life-threatening situation and his family was summoned to his bedside. He had an operation Nov. 30 to remove a growth near his pancreas.

    Gang Members Go Back To Jail After Sweep

    khts_crimeEight gang members were arrested Thursday morning as teams of detectives and deputies swept through more than 30 locations in the valley conducting a compliance check on probationers.

     

     

    Lt. Steve Low, who heads the Detective Bureau at the Santa Clarita Valley station, said that drugs and ammunition were confiscated along with other evidence during the multiple arrests.
