Rose Seminar Offered January 9 At Senior Center

The seminar will be held at 2:30 p.m.  Sunday, January 9 at the SCV Senior Center,  22900 Market Street, Newhall. The seminar will feature rose consultants Bob Belendez, Kitty Belendez, and Steve Jones who will demonstrate how to properly prune various types of roses.

Tofutti Brands Inc. expanded its recall of 25 pallets of its 4-Pack Yours Truly frozen dessert cones (UPC 0-20188-01500-9) due to possible trace level milk contamination reported for one lot of product shipped which was produced in August of 2010 to include lot number 2360.

 

Canyon, Valencia Girls Basketball Teams Reach Semifinals Of Burroughs Tournament

khts_sportsThe Canyon and Valencia girls basketball teams reached the semifinals of the Burroughs tournament.

Canyon beat Burbank, 63-31, in the quarterfinals. Alia McCoy scored 15 points for undefeated Canyon.

Valencia eliminated Monroe, 44-40, behind 14 points from Lauren Spargo. Faith Anumba added 11 for Valencia.

December 19 2010: Kings Lose In Chicago 3-2

Sunday, the Los Angeles Kings faced the Blackhawks in Chicago. L.A. was able to score goals in the 2nd and 3rd period but Chicago dominated from the start and went on to defeat the Kings. 3 to 2 was the final.
