    Immigration Holds Requested For Two Kidnap Suspects In Newhall

    khts_crimeFour men – two of them from out of the country, are behind bars for their part in an alleged kidnap/carjacking that took place in Newhall on Monday afternoon.

    According to Lt. Mark Hershey, a 17-year old female said she gave two men a ride home, but enroute, they threatened her with a gun, forcing her to drive them elsewhere.

    Runner Resigns Today To Consolidate Election Process

    Santa Clarita Christian Football Team Turning It Up To 11

    Santa Clarita Christian has applied for and received permission to play 11-man football in the 2011 season. The football team has also applied for admission into the San Joaquin League.

    Santa Clarita Christian won the CIF Division I 8-man football championships in 2008 and 2009. The team made it to the semifinals of the 8-man playoffs in 2010.

    A flash flood watch remains in effect for the recent burn areas –including the Crown burn area in Acton/Agua Dulce, and the Station, Morris and Briggs burn areas - though late Wednesday night.

    Peak rainfall rates between one-half and three-quarters of an inch are possible through Wednesday night. Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday night and Wednesday, which would produce even more intense rainfall rates.
