Antonovich Signs Emergency Proclamation To Facilitate Aid For Storm Victims

mikeantonovichIn preparation for potential damages associated with the recent storms, Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich signed a proclamation declaring a State of Emergency for Los Angeles County .

 

 

This action activates an assessment team from the State to evaluate the potential damage to infrastructure followed by additional financial support and other resources from the state and federal governments, if necessary.

December 23 2010: Kings Beat Oilers 3-2 In OT

The Los Angeles Kings beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 in Overtime. Sharon Runner To Vie For George's Senate Seat

RunnerSharon1Former Assemblywoman Sharon Runner has announced that she will run for the State Senate seat vacated yesterday by her husband, George.

George Runner resigned his seat representing the 17th District in order to assume the office on the State Board of Equalization to which he was elected in November.

Horse Killed In Traffic Collision On Sierra Highway

A horse is dead after it was involved in a two-vehicle collision on Sierra Highway at approximately 6:25 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.  

The collision took place on Sierra Highway at Oak Street, near the Le Chene restaurant. The horse was not carrying a rider and was not inside a trailer.

Food Pantry Receives $10K Donation From Wells Fargo

One Lot Of Lipitor Recalled Because Of Strange Odor

khts_recallsPfizer has announced that it intends to recall one lot—approximately 19,000 bottles—of Lipitor 40 mg tablets (atorvastatin calcium) distributed in the U.S. The recall stems from one customer report of an uncharacteristic odor related to the bottles in which these lots of Lipitor were packaged. The bottles were supplied by a third-party bottle manufacturer.

A medical assessment found that the risk of health consequences to patients appears to be minimal.

Valencia Boys Soccer Team Wins San Gabriel Valley Classic

khts_sportsThe Valencia boys soccer team won the San Gabriel Valley Classic by the narrowest of margins at Monrovia High School.

Valencia played two games, the semifinals and the final, and won both on penalty kicks.

In the championship game against Sierra Vista of Baldwin Park, the two teams played to a 2-2 tie in regulation. Josh Motto and Matt Peters each scored a goal for Valencia.
