    December 4, 2010: L.A.Kings Beat Detroit Redwings 3-2

    The L.A. Kings faced off against the #1 team in the NHL, the Detroit Redwings at Staples Center this evening. At the end of regulation time they were tied at 2 apiece. Midway through the 5 minute sudden death overtime period, Anze Kopitar scored the game winning goal for the Kings.  Final Score: Los Angeles Kings - 3, Detroit Redwings - 2

    In front of a small crowd at Central Park for the groundbreaking for the Community Gardens of Santa Clarita, Diane Benjamin detailed the history of community gardens in the United States, from their foundation in the 1890s, the “Victory Gardens” during World War II, their resurgence in the 1970s amid environmental reforms and their usefulness in the new millennium.  

    Valencia Loses, Football Season Ends

    Tonight, the Valencia Vikings lost to Oaks Christian, 42-33, ending their CIF Northern Division Football Playoff run.

    Students From India To Visit And Experience Life In California

    khts_inthecommunity2Every three years, students from Pinegrove School located in Shimla, Himachel Pridesh, India have the opportunity to visit and experience life in the United Sates. The students travel here where volunteer families of Santa Clarita will act as host families for these students for a two-week period between December 30 and January 18.

    On Thursday, the Santa Clarita Valley's Sheriff's Station hosted its annual toy drive at Power Honda Valencia.

    Generous visitors filled with holiday spirt donated toys and were treated to choral performances by several Santa Clarita Valley schools.
