College of the Canyons’ blossoming network of gardens was given an extra boost on Monday.  

In front of small crowd gathered at the Valencia campus, Jim Bizzelle, representing Pardee Homes and parent company Weyerhaeuser, awarded the community college with a $5,000 check toward the Gardens of the Canyons.

Not only did the College of the Canyons men’s soccer team lose the championship game of the California Community College State Championship, some of the players lost their composure.

Three COC players were issued red cards in the second half as Mt. San Antonio College won, 4-0, to capture its second state championship in a row.
