Ballet Company Continues Tradition With The Nutcracker

Now in its 16th year, the Santa Clarita Ballet Company production of The Nutcracker has grown up with the city.  

Over time, the ballet has evolved into a holiday mainstay in Santa Clarita like the tree lighting at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.  

City Expands Traffic TAP Card Purchasing Locations

bus_interiorDue to popular demand, the City of Santa Clarita has expanded the sales locations for the Transit Access Pass (TAP) cards. Mail America in Canyon Country, Railroad Café in Newhall and VONS in Newhall, will be open for Transit Access Pass purchase and reloading starting January 3, 2011.

McLean Set To Become Next Santa Clarita Mayor

marshamcleanMarsha McLean will be sworn in at a special City Council meeting at 5 p.m. on December 14, 2010 as part of a live, televised meeting at Santa Clarita City Hall in City Council Chambers.

McLean will take over as Mayor for the 2011 calendar year, marking her second time as Santa Clarita’s mayor.

Smyth Named Assistant Republican Leader For State Assembly

Chris Varner Resigns As Coach Of Canyon Football Team

khts_sportsChris Varner, the Canyon High football coach, resigned over the weekend, according to a story in The Signal.

Varner guided Canyon to the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Northern Division playoffs and to a 10-2 record. His team won its first playoff game since winning a CIF state championship in 2006.

Everything's Coming Up Roses On City Excursion
