Quashen To Appear On Syndicated Medical Show "The Doctors" Wednesday

Cary Quashen, the executive director of Families In Action and a featured show host on KHTS will be on the syndicated TV show “The Doctors” on Wednesday.

The show will feature Quashen sharing his experience helping a young Santa Clarita woman with her addiction to crystal meth that led to her checking in to a rehabilitation facility.

According to “The Doctors” website, Wednesday’s show will expose why more and more teens are getting hooked on drugs and answer some questions parents have about the possibility of their children falling victim.

West Ranch, Valencia Reach Quarterfinals Of CIF Tennis Playoffs

khts_sportsThe West Ranch girls tennis team moved into the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs with a 15-3 win over Marlborough.

The Fuentes sisters, Ana Lucia and Ana Cecilia, swept their singles matches for West Ranch, the top-seeded team in the Division III playoffs.

West Ranch is at home to play Santiago Corona in the quarterfinals today.

Car Knocks Over Power Box, Causes Series Of Electrical Fires In Newhall

UPDATED 3 p.m. Monday

LA County Fire has declared knockdown on several small electrical fires that were burning in a strip mall at 23033 Lyons Avenue in Newhall.

The fires were caused by a car knocking over an electrical vault in the center, which is near Kansas Street.

Sheriff's officials say that the driver of the car may have had medical issues before the collision. They were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Four Local Schools Earn 11-man Football Playoff Berths

Monday, the Los Angeles Kings six game winning streak came to end with a loss to their division rivals, the San Jose Sharks. The final score was 6 to 3.
