    TONIGHT: The first round of the Northern Division CIF-SS 2010 Football Championships!

    Canyon and Valencia go on to the second round- West Ranch and Saugus were defeated, and their seasons ended tonight.

    DUI Checkpoint Set For Tonight In SCV

    khts_crime_genericThe Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will be conducting a D.U.I. checkpoint beginning at 6 p.m. tonight, concluding at 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

     

     

    The goal of the checkpoint is to educate the community on the hazards of drunk driving while enforcing the D.U.I. laws of the State of California. The checkpoint is an ongoing attempt to safely remove drunk drivers from our streets.

    TPC And West Ranch Gala Raises Nearly $50K For Arts Groups

    The third annual gala was a success, offering patrons a chance to enjoy entertainment, gourmet food and wine and support the visual and performing arts in the Santa Clarita Valley.

    Darvon And Darvocet Withdrawn From Market Due To Heart Risks

    khts_recallsXanodyne Pharmaceuticals Inc. which makes Darvon and Darvocet, the brand version of the prescription pain medication propoxyphene, has agreed to withdraw the medication from the U.S. market at the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA has also informed the generic manufacturers of propoxyphene-containing products of Xanodyne’s decision and requested that they voluntarily remove their products as well.

    CIF Football Playoffs Begin Tonight

    Valencia, the Foothill League champions and the No. 4 seed in the Northern Division playoffs, is home against Highland from the Golden League.

    Canyon is home in the first round against Palmdale, another team from the Golden League.

    L.A. County: Most Rabid Bats Found In Santa Clarita

    Seriously, public health officials are warning Santa Clarita residents to be careful of bats they might see in their yards or around the house because an unusually large amount of rabid bats have been found in the Santa Clarita Valley in the last 10 months.
