Dodgers Sign Gibbons To One Year Contract

dodgerslogoThe Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they have signed outfielder Jay Gibbons to a one-year contract. The announcement was made by Dodger General Manager Ned Colletti.

The 33-year-old returns to Los Angeles , where he batted .280 with five home runs and 17 RBI in 37 games following his August 8 promotion from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Hart Football Team's Playoff Fate Lies In Game Against Canyon

khts_sportsThe longest standing football rivalry in the Santa Clarita Valley, the Hart-Canyon game, resumes tonight at College of the Canyons.

This one has playoff implications. Canyon is all-but assured of a playoff spot with a 7-1 record and 2-1 in Foothill League play. Hart has lost two games in a row, both to Foothill League teams, and needs a win to stay in playoff contention.

11_4_CCTrack_WD__0045Representives from the City of Santa Clarita, Castaic Lake Water Agency and local high schools gathered at Central Park in Saugus today for the opening of a new three-mile cross country course. The course was built as a partnership with the City and CLWA, and will be used by local school track teams. It is open to the public.
