Stylist Honors Mother, Salon Helps With Fundraiser

Veterans Day Events Offer Variety Of Tributes To Service Members

flagA variety of events will be held Thursday, Veterans Day, to commemorate and honor the contributions made to our country by members of the Armed Forces.

 

 

Westfield Valencia Town Center will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. to open a myriad of new shops in the Patios area of the shopping center. As part of the ceremony, several local veterans will be honored and Westfield will make a donation to a local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Master Chorale To Present Rodgers And Hammerstein Concert

Guests will enjoy a full repertoire of familiar classics, including selections from the popular musicals “Oklahoma!” and “South Pacific,” among many other shows written by the prolific duo.

National Forests To Be Fee-Free On Veterans Day

Forest_ServiceIn honor of America’s past and present military members, national forests across the country, including the Angeles and Los Padres locally, will offer visitors a “fee free” day on Thursday, November 11. The normally required National Forest Adventure Pass will be waived.

CIF Girls Volleyball Playoffs Begin Tonight

khts_sportsFive teams from the Santa Clarita Valley are headed to the CIF girls volleyball playoffs which begin tonight with first round action.

The Valencia girls, the champions of the Foothill League, are at home for a match against Estancia of Costa Mesa, the third-place team from the Orange Coast League.

Valencia is ranked No. 8 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1-A rankings. Marymount has the top seed in the Division 1-A girls volleyball playoffs.

Valencia Library Patron Files Lawsuit Against City Alleging Brown Act Violation

bookpicEdward Shain, a Santa Clarita resident and frequent user of the Valencia Library, has filed a lawsuit against City officials, claiming that they decided to secede from the County of Los of Angeles Public Library before holding a public discussion, which would be a violation of the Brown Act.
