Senior Center Adds Two New Teachers

khts_inthecommunityTwo new instructors are offering classes at the SCV Senior Center.

Gilbert Mena, MMQ will resurrect the Qi-gong class on October 15. Classes will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Fridays in the A-6 Conference Room, with a fee of $3. All ages are welcome to participate.

West Ranch Football Team Faces Undefeated St. Francis At Valencia High School

khts_sportsThe Foothill League football teams are gearing up for their last preseason games.

West Ranch, coming off a tough 24-20 loss to Silverado, takes on an undefeated St. Francis team at Valencia High School tonight.

St. Francis is 3-0 and beat Venice, 31-13, last week. West Ranch is 2-2. Quarterback Connor Eichten threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns against Silverado, but West Ranch gave up 284 rushing yards.

Vehicle Strikes Baby In Stroller

UPDATED 11:20 p.m. Thursday

The California Highway Patrol has reported that a mother pushing a stroller holding her infant child was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of Sierra Highway and Sandy Drive in Canyon Country shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday night. According to authorities, the child was not injured and injuries to the mother were minor.
