Arrests Made In Canyon Country Woman's Death

khts_crimeTwo arrests were made Thursday afternoon in the case of the death of Rosemary Flynn, a 21-year old woman who died July 31 after a night of karaoke at a popular Canyon Country night spot.

Flynn’s boyfriend, Bryon Murray, 28, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and Brianne Gill, 24, was arrested as an accessory.

Jury Selection Underway In Stephens Case

khts_crime_genericJury selection is continuing in the murder case against Michael Dean Stephens in San Fernando Superior Court.

Stephens is suspected of the brutal murder of Josh Pipho and injuring Chad Weitz after an altercation in Stevenson Ranch in November 2007.

He is accused of stabbing Pipho 16 times and Weitz 17 times before using his car to run over Pipho, a popular former Canyon High baseball player.

The Big Draw Comes to Santa Clarita

khts_inthecommunity2On October 7 the ARTree Community Arts Center will participate in an international event, The Big Draw, where residents come together to show their natural ability to draw.

The Big Draw launched in the United Kingdom in 2000 with 190 particpating locales, but has since grown to more than 1500 across the globe and includes 20 countries.

National Contest Invites Youth To Submit Art About Nature Areas

Forest_ServiceThe Robert Bateman Get to Know Program and U.S. Forest Service are inviting American youth to “get to know” their wild neighbors of other species through the Get to Know Contest. Launching nationwide on October 1, the contest encourages young people to submit art, writing, photography, and videos inspired by firsthand experiences with nature in the outdoors.
