    Sheriffs Seek Witnesses To September 7 Assault

    khts_crimeDetectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station are investigating an incident of assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle) and criminal threats that occurred on Tuesday, September 7, at 4:20 in the afternoon.

    Detectives would like to speak with any motorist or Santa Clarita resident who witnessed the incident involving two vehicles, a black 1990 Lexus 4-door and a black 2004 Hyundai Accent 4-door.

    Chili Cookoff Promises Hot Weekend Fun

    chilibearThe perfect end-of-summer event is coming up next weekend and it promises to be a hot one.

    The fifth annual Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Fun In The Sun Chili Cookoff will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jack Bones Equestrian Center in Castaic, featuring more than 20 chili booths, music, entertainment and activities for the children.

    American Legion Hosts Two Fundraisers To Help Members

    Tomorrow from 6 a.m. to noon, a rummage sale will be held in the parking lot of the post at 24527 Spruce Street to raise funds for the post and its charitable causes.

    Small Brush Fire In Canyon Country Wash

    khts_fireengine5A small brush fire burned in the wash near Walnut Springs Avenue in Canyon Country Friday morning and was quickly put out by firefighters.

     

     

    No structures were damaged in the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown.
