Mayor's Walk Added To Annual Marathon

khts_citymatters_scvlogoThis year marks the first Mayor’s Walk, which will be held as part of the City’s annual Marathon, slated for Sunday, November 7. The 2.6 mile Mayor’s Walk will be led by Mayor Laurene Weste and the Santa Clarita City Council, and will begin at City Hall, 23920 Valencia Boulevard, at 7:15 a.m.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lose to the Colorado Rockies 12-2. A rough day for the Dodgers, but a two run homerun by Russ Mitchell in the bottom of the 9th inning helped break up the shut out. DISARM Search Seizes Several Weapons And Drugs

khts_crime_genericDuring the month of May, D.I.S.A.R.M. officers confiscated 73 weapons – including 27 handguns, 20 assault rifles, and 17 rifles/shotguns, $1.5 million in illegal drugs, and arrested 204 probationers during 1,518 unannounced searches of residences, persons, vehicles, and businesses, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Castaic Schools Schedule Artist Residencies For School Year

The residencies are the direct result of a fruitful partnership with the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, without whom they may not have been financially feasible.
