    City Offers Disaster Preparedness Workshop For Non-Profits

    khts_inthecommunityThe City of Santa Clarita and the Emergency Network of Los Angeles are conducting a free half-day disaster plan training for faith based and non-profit organizations. The training will be held on September 21 from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the City of Santa Clarita Activities Center.

    New Features For Santa Clarita Trails

    trail_mapsAn updated trail map of Santa Clarita was recently launched on the City’s website: santa-clarita.com/trails.  Residents can view the map and print desired trail views.

    The map’s newest feature is the display of mileage between major access points of the trail system. This will assist residents in determining distances for walking, running, and biking.

    UPDATED: Placerita Canyon Road Covered By Landslide

    One lane of Placerita Canyon Road is being used to funnel traffic past a landslide that covered Placerita Canyon Road with boulders as large as 4 1/2 feet high.

    The California Highway Patrol is directing traffic through the affected area, which is approximately one mile east of the 14 Freeway, near the Placerita Nature Center.

    The Master's College Men's Soccer Team Loses Season Opener

    khts_sportsThe Master’s College men’s soccer team is off to a bit of a rocky start. The No. 2 ranked team in the NAIA lost its season opener, 2-1, to Westminster in Salt Lake City.

    The Master’s College had a 1-0 lead in the first half. Jake Marchesani scored an unassisted goal in the 25th minute.

    Westminster tied the game in the 64th minute with Nic Duncan scoring an unassisted goal.
