Round Up Purchases At JCPenney For Local Boys And Girls Club

BoysgirlsclubFrom August 4 through the 17, JCPenney customers are invited to “round-up” their purchase total to the nearest whole dollar and donate the difference to the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley.

The Club has partnered with JCPenney to provide children with access to life-enriching after school programs that foster their academic, physical, and social development.

Movie Night To Raise Funds For Children's Dental Health

FamilyMovieNightThe Foundation for Children’s Dental Health is hosting a fundraiser family movie night at 7:00 p.m. on August 20 at Bridgeport Park.   The featured film will be The Princess Bride.

This free event will include pre-movie activities for children, raffle prizes, and a “Snack Shack” selling candy, popcorn, shaved ice, water, and soda.

Canyons Aquatic Club Sending 5 Swimmers To National Meet

khts_sportsFive swimmers from the Canyons Aquatics Club qualified for the Conoco Phillips National Championships in Irvine.

Michelle Duraj, Kearsten Livingstone and Chelsea Griffiths will be competing in the women’s portion of the meet. Konrad Antoniuk and Riley Mita are on the men’s side of the meet.

August 2 2010: Dodgers Lose To Padres 10-5

The Dodgers are still in a slump it seems as they lose yet another game this evening. They certainly tried but the offense just didn't click. The Padres hit two Homerun RBI's to put them well ahead of the Dodgers before an end score of 10-5. We Lost A Great One - Remembering Keith Richman

I lost one of my heroes on Friday evening. Former California State Assemblyman Keith Richman passed away peacefully with his family by his side. His battle with brain cancer finally ended.
