Valencia Man Behind Bars For Drug Possession

khts_crimeA Valencia man is in jail after he was pulled over for driving erratically near Newhall Park.

Richard Clarke, 26, was found to be under the influence of marijuana when he was stopped at 9:15 p.m. Thursday on Dalby Drive in Newhall. During a search of his car, deputies found marijuana, heroin and $6,500 cash. In addition, two pounds of marijuana that appeared to have been packaged for sale was found in the trunk.

Hundreds Of Lawsuits Are Filed As Radiation Overdoses Continue

CT_ScanLawyers representing more than 100 clients suffering from radiation overexposure are having their lawsuits against two Los Angeles hospitals and General Electric Co. consolidated in a California courtroom.  

A Los Angeles Times report on Wednesday added Los Angeles-USC Medical Center and Bakersfield Memorial Hospital to the list of hospitals where overdoses occurred – this time with scanners manufactured by Toshiba.  

Antonovich Requests Disclosure Of Regional Agencies Compensation

mikeantonovichIn the wake of the City of Bell salary scandal, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich is requesting that officials who head regional agencies provide and post on their websites salary and compensation information for public inquiry.

In the letters, Antonovich requested total annual compensation including salary, deferred compensation and benefits for Chief Executive Officers or Executive Directors for fiscal years 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Meat Company Recalls Million Pounds Of Ground Beef And Patties For E.coli

khts_recallsValley Meat Company, a Modesto, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately one million pounds of frozen ground beef patties and bulk ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

 

Hart PONY Baseball Team Shuts Out Keller In Mustang World Series

khts_sportsThe Hart Mustang baseball team beat Keller, Texas, 5-0, on the second day of the PONY World Series in Irving, Texas.

Hart starer J.T. Shroud pitched a three-hitter and struck out 10 in six innings. He was also 1-for-3 with an RBI. Caden Miller drove in two runs and Cole Roederer was 2-for-3 for Hart.

City Says Library Censorship Is Not A Concern
