KHTS Morning Host To Appear On Animal Planet’s “Pit Boss”

Brandon Gibson, host of the “The Hometown Morning Show” and “Uncorked” on KHTS AM-1220, is both a champion of dogs and television. Naturally, Gibson was elated when Shorty Rossi of Animal Planet’s “Pit Boss” stopped by his morning for an interview.  

Animal Planet will air parts of Gibson’s interview with Rossi this Saturday during its newest episode of “Pit Boss.”  

Castaic Lake Water Agency Challenges Local Students

Santa Clarita United Blue Soccer Team Wins Mustang Stampede

khts_sportsThe Santa Clarita United Blue, an under-14 girls soccer team, won the U14 Girls Gold Championship of the Mustang Stampede in Danville, Calif., beating the Aax United Football Club, 1-0, in the title game.

Taylor Ayers scored the winning goal in overtime. Alex Best recorded the shutout in goal. She recorded five straight shutouts in the tournament.

Deputies Looking For Door-Kick Burglars In Canyon Country

khts_crime_genericDetectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station are investigating a door-kick burglary that occurred Monday afternoon in the 17500 block of Polar Point Lane in Canyon Country. Deputies responded to the location after a resident called and said someone had kicked open her front door while she was home and entered her residence.

Baby Suffocates In Newhall Home

khts_ambulanceA 3-month-old baby girl was found unresponsive in her crib Tuesday afternoon and was declared dead upon arrival at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

According to Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station, deputies responded to a help call from the girl’s Chestnut Street home, where one of her parents discovered that she was not breathing.

Recently Banned Bass Fisherman Excelled At Castaic Lake

largmouth_bassMike Hart, the popular and successful professional angler that was banned from Western Outdoor News Bass events for cheating, won numerous competitions at Castaic Lake in the Santa Clarita Valley.  

According to a representative at the lake’s pro shop, “Any tournament that happened in Castaic, (he) was most likely in it.”  

The Santa Clarita Bulldogs Win Cooperstown Dream Week Championship

The Santa Clarita Bulldogs, a 12-and-under youth baseball team, won a Cooperstown Dream Week championship in New York.

The Bulldogs beat the Clayton Heat from North Carolina, 7-4, in the championship game.

The Heat took a 2-1 lead on a pair of solo home runs in the championship game. But the Bulldogs rallied and took the lead in the fourth inning. Cole Bygum drove in two runs in the inning to put the Bulldogs up 3-2.
