Marijuana Grow Operation Found In Valencia

telinogrowhousecloseupFollowing a tip called in to the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station, a team of sheriff’s deputies, armed with a search warrant, descended on a normally quiet Tempo Homes neighborhood Tuesday morning with the intention of eliminating another source of illegal drugs.


Acton Woman, Daughter Killed On Evening Walk

khts_crime_chpAn Acton woman and her daughter were killed Monday night as they walked on Antelope Woods Road near Crown Valley Road.

According to the Antelope Valley office of the California Highway Patrol, shortly after 8 p.m., Missy Darnell, 43, was walking southbound on Antelope Woods in front of a Toyota Scion XB driven by Angela Hupp.

Senator Runner Reports On Budget Votes

georgerunnerThe Senate voted on two budget proposals today: One presented by the Republicans and the other by the Democrats. Both failed (Republican plan: 12-24; Democrat plan: 21-14).

Santa Clarita’s On-Call Heroes Hit The Links

On September 20, the Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue Team will host its fourth Annual Golf Tournament at Robinson Ranch Golf Club.  

All are welcome join the tournament’s four-person scramble format. Golfers will be fed before, during and after playing the 18-hole course. Concluding the evening will be an awards ceremony, drawing and silent auction.

Pico Canyon Fire Burns Several Acres

The fire has been knocked down and is 60 percent contained.

The Oak Incident fire has just grown into a second alarm fire, as fire officials report it has crested the hill at Pico Canyon and is heading toward Clark Street in Stevenson Ranch.

Approximately 10 acres have burned.

Raw Cheeses Recalled For Possible Listeria Contamination

cheeselabelsoneMorningland Dairy of Mountain View, Missouri, is recalling 68,957 pounds of cheese because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes and also has the potential to be contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus.

Morningland Dairy’s raw milk cheese is sold in the lower 48 states via mail order, retail stores, crop sharing associations, and direct delivery.

The Master's College Women's Volleyball Team Splits Four Matches At Seaside Invitational

khts_sportsThe Master’s College women’s volleyball team won two matches, and lost two matches, in the Seaside Invitational at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego over the weekend.

The Master’s College opened the tournament losing in three games to Missouri Baptist. But The Master’s College bounced back to win matches against Savannah College of Art and Design from Georgia and Huston-Tillotson from Texas.
