Driver In July 4 Fatal Crash Found At Fault, DA Considering Case

khts_crime_genericThe driver of an Infiniti sedan that struck and killed a Newhall mother watching July 4 fireworks near the mall has been found at fault in the fatal accident, according to the sheriff’s report of the accident.

Melissa Bridgitte Brown, 22, told officers that she ran the red light before striking a Dodge Durango van driven by Philip Harper Anderson that was turning left into the Kohl’s shopping center.

SCV Jaycees Are Honored At Junior Chamber International Convention

Members representing SCV Jaycees attended a wide variety of events including the “Ten Outstanding Young Americans Awards” and the “2009 Year End Awards”, at which the chapter garnered three very special awards.

Tickets On Sale For World-Class Soccer In Santa Clarita

SoccerTickets are on sale now for the United Soccer League’s Women’s League Championship presented by Umbro on July 29 and 31 at Harry Welch Stadium on the campus of Canyon High.

The W-League Championship will feature some of the best female soccer players in the world. The top four teams in the W-League will play two semifinals on Thursday and the winners will meet on Saturday for the championship. A consolation game featuring the other two semifinalists will precede the finals.

Antoniuk Finishes Third In 800 Freestyle At Speedo Championship Series Swim Meet

khts_sportsKonrad Antoniuk from Canyons Aquatic Club finished third in the 800 freestyle at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center on the first day of the California-Nevada swim sectionals of the Speedo Championship Series.

John Mendoza from the La Mirada Armada swim club won the 800 freestyle. Riley Mita from the Canyons Aquatic Club was fifth.
