McKeon Lauds Mattis Appointment To CENTCOM

Valencia High's Alison Lee Tees Off In U.S. Women's Open Golf Tournament

khts_sportsValencia freshman Alison Lee began her first round in the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania at 4:11 this morning.

She is grouped with Meredith Duncan and fellow amateur Jennifer Kirby. They started the first round of the U.S. Open on the 10th hole at Oakmont. After five holes, Lee is 5-over par.

BREAKING NEWS: 5.4 Earthquake Felt In Santa Clarita

khts_breakingnews2A magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook the studios at KHTS at 4:53 this afternoon.

The quake was centered in Borrego Springs, which is between Escondido and San Diego.

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that the epicenter was seven miles beneath the surface.

District Attorney Applauds Antonovich's Plan To Ban Pot Dispensaries

mikeantonovichDistrict Attorney Steve Cooley today congratulated Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich and the Board for voting to draft an ordinance banning illegal marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated portions of the county.

“I unequivocally support the Board’s proposed ban and applaud the Board’s leadership in this area,” Cooley said. “Communities throughout the nation are waiting to see how we handle store fronts illegally pushing pot.”

McKeon To Hold Healthcare Roundtable Thursday

buckmckeonCongressman Buck McKeon will visit the SCV Senior Center tomorrow to hold a roundtable discussion on Medicare and Tricare with invited senior citizens and veterans.

The roundtable will be held from 3 to 3:45 p.m.
