    'Predator,' 'Despicable Me' Cool Ways To Spend Summer Afternoon

    predatorsmovieI would like to start off by saying that I saw “Predators” at midnight last Thursday, the same night as LeBron’s “The Decision” aired on ESPN. That decision was talked about by a lot of people that were in the theater with me and my buddy Justin. Since I’m late to the party in putting in my own two cents, I’ll make this rant short.

    BREAKING NEWS: Brush Fire On Newhall Avenue At 14 Freeway

    khts_brushfireA brush fire has been reported on Newhall Avenue near the 14 freeway, units from Los Angeles County Fire and Angeles National Forest are enroute to the location.

    Fuel in the area is reportedly light grass, units on the scene report that the fire is burning slowly uphill.

     

    Newhall Narcotics Warrant Service Nets 10 Arrests

    khts_crime_genericTen people were arrested Thursday afternoon when detectives served a search warrant at a house on the 25000 block of Fourl Road in Newhall.

    Detectives arrived around 3 p.m. at the home and took four of the suspects into custody on suspicion of felonies, arresting six others for misdemeanor offenses. Because of continuing investigations, only two names of those arrested were released.

    July 16 2010: Dodgers Lose To Cardinals 8-4

    After blowing several scoring opportunities, The Dodgers could not come back from an early Cardinals lead. The top of the fourth inning was the closest the game ever got, with The Cardinals leading 4-2. The Cardinals scored another run in the bottom of the fourth and three more unanswered runs before The Dodgers finally scored two more runs in the top of the eigth inning. That is where the scoring ended, with the final score The Cardinals 8 and The Dodgers 4.

    Alleged Stalker Arrested For Kidnap Attempt

    khts_crimeA 60-year old Canyon Country man is in County custody after allegedly trying to lure two young girls into his car Thursday afternoon.

    Sherman Linden Eggers was arrested at 3:30 p.m. and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station on suspicion of attempted kidnap, stalking and annoying or molesting a minor.

    Valencia Carwasher Honored By National Magazine

    khts_businessnews3Local Valencia AutoSpa manager, Sandra Silvestre, has been awarded the title of 2010's Most Valuable Carwasher by The Professional Carwash & Detailing Magazine based in New York.  Silvestre was nominated by Valencia AutoSpa owner, Randy Cressall, and AutoSpa customer, Stephanie Weiss.  She will also be recognized by the Western Carwash Association, a 12-state carwash trade association, for her distinctive honor.

    Rotating Outages Expected, Yet Preventable In Summer Months

    The National Weather Service reported today that inland areas in Southern California could reach near-record temperatures each afternoon through Sunday. Projected maximum afternoon temperatures will range from the upper 90s to 110 degrees. The humidity will exceed critical levels, leading to possible spells of rainfall.
