Saugus Girls Track And Field Team Wins CIF Championship

khts_sportsThe Saugus girls track and field team has done something no other team in the Santa Clarita Valley has ever done: Win a CIF track and field championship.

The Saugus girls won the CIF Southern Section Division II championship at Cerritos College behind a pair of stellar performances by sprinters Jenna Vincej and Amber Wright.

Vincej won the 400 in 56.09 seconds and was on the 4-by-400 relay team that finished second.

Bryan Herta Autosport Secures Final Spot In Indy 500

Valencia’s Bryan Herta, the owner of the team, didn’t know if he was in or out of the Indianapolis 500 until he was on his way to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway tech center after qualifying was over on Sunday.

LARCtwoDozens of motorcycles rumbled onto LARC Ranch recently to bring fellowship and a bit of biker excitement to the ranch’s residents as the Bikers for Christ held their Third Annual LARC Ranch Benefit Ride.

The riders’ May 1 arrival provided Saturday afternoon fun and entertainment for LARC’s developmentally disabled residents, and at the same time the Christian motorcycle ministry raised approximately $1,000 for the non-profit LARC’s programs and services.
