altI love arugula. If you asked me what are three things I always have in my refrigerator, arugula would be one of them. I put it on my tacos...weird I know. I put it in omelets and on sandwiches too. I simply find the peppery taste irresistible. A couple of springs ago I decided to make pesto as a side for the steaks my husband was going to put on the grill.

 

Parks To Benefit From Mormon Day Of Service

COC Helps Veterans With Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

College of the Canyons will host a panel presentation designed to help the families of military veterans and community members, learn about the various symptoms, causes and therapeutic treatments of war-induced Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD.

The panel discussion, "The Silent Wounds of Trauma: Hearing the Hurt, Helping to Heal, Being a Vocal Partner" will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, in Hasley Hall room 101, on the COC Valencia campus.

Muroc Superintendent To Take Over Hart District Helm

Rob-ChallinorRobert R. Challinor, superintendent of the Muroc Joint Unified School District for the past four years, has been named the top candidate for superintendent of the Wm. S. Hart Union High School District. The district will now enter contract negotiations with Challinor and hopes to be able to introduce the new superintendent at Governing Board meeting scheduled for May 19.
