Military Denies F-16’s That Buzzed Santa Clarita Came From Their Base

f-16The mystery of the origin of the jets that buzzed Santa Clarita on May 4 continues, but new information shows that they may have been military planes on a joy ride.

After tracking the flights on a flight tracker website, KHTS was able to identify the Flight ID of the plane and also learned that reports of two planes were correct.

Pink Giraffe Blankets Sold At Target Recalled By Maker

giraffeblankets_copyPink giraffe ‘security’ blankets sold at Target Stores nationwide have been recalled due to a possible choking hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Rashti and Rashti of New York, announced a voluntary recall of about 44,000 of the pink giraffe blankets because the balls on top of the giraffe’s horns can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

West Ranch's JJ Holen Wins CIF Individual Golf Championship

sportswestranchWest Ranch golfer J.J. Holen won the CIF Northern Individual Regional at River Ridge Golf Club by two strokes.

The junior shot a 5-under par 67 on the Vineyard Course and made seven birdies, four in a row at one point.

Valencia’s Jonathan Chang shot a 2-over par 74 and made the cut for the Southern Section Individual Championship in Lompoc next week.

Two Runner-Authored Sex Offender Bills Pass Senate

georgerunnerTwo of State Senator George Runner’s bills tightening controls on sex offenders passed the Senate last week and are now being considered by the state Assembly.

SB 1204 would require registered sex offenders to disclose their e-mail addresses – they already have to disclose their physical addresses – along with any websites or instant messaging names to law enforcement. Failing to do so would constitute violation of their parole or probation.
