Driving For Green

The Mountainview Elementary School Dads Committee is hosting an Inaugural Golf Tournament at The Players Club in Valencia.

Players who buy into the tournament will receive a scramble format round of golf, a cart, five raffle tickets, lunch and beverages.

There will also be a putting contest held before the shotgun start to the tournament.

Registration for the event is at 8 a.m. with the start taking place at 9:15 a.m. on March 29.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Mountainview Elementary PTA.

Mayor Weste Receives Republican Group's Endorsement Ahead Of Election

Women In Media To Be Honored

American Women in Radio and Television Southern California Chapter (AWRT) will be hosting their 53rd Annual Genii Awards on Wednesday April 14th at the Skirball Center in LA.

This is their biggest fundraiser of the year, providing Scholarships for students studying Radio, TV and the allied fields.

Among this years honorees are Betty White, Mary Hart of Entertainment Tonight and Alana Stewart for her Documentary 'Farrah's Story'.

City Council Candidates Square Off


Thursday evening, eight candidates for Santa Clarita City Council took part in a debate presented by KHTS AM-1220, The Signal and SCVTV.

Of the 11 candidates appearing on the ballot, eight participated. They were: TimBen Boydston, Frank Ferry, David Gauny, Daniel Henriquez, Harrison Katz, Marsha McLean, Henry Schultz and Laurene Weste.

Daylight Savings: Spring Forward This Weekend

In what may possibly be considered the best deal of the year, we will all trade one hour of sleep on Sunday morning for a lot more daylight through October.

Daylight Savings is this weekend, and time will officially be set forward one hour at 2:00 a.m. Sunday.

The change is practiced through most of the United States, and it provides more sunshine in the evening, often lasting through the 6 o'clock hour and beyond.

More daylight generally means a slightly easier commute for evening travelers, extended golf hours, and increased energy savings.
