The Valencia store is located at 28758 on The Old Road, roughly two miles north of Magic Mountain Parkway.

 

Saugus Boys Soccer Team Loses In CIF Wild-Card Round

sportslocalThe Saugus boys soccer team made an early exit from the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs with a 4-1 loss to Santa Ynez in a wild-card game.

Manny Padron scored the lone goal for Saugus. Freshman Alex Uribe scored a hat trick for Santa Ynez.

 

In college baseball, the College of the Canyons beat Orange Coast College, 15-9. Kenny Shanahan and Travis McBride each had three-hit games and COC collected 20 hits in all.

Condies Picked To Receive Silver Spur Honors

The College of the Canyons Foundation has selected Gary and Myrna Condie as the recipients of the coveted "Silver Spur" Community Service Award for 2010.

The award ceremony will be held at the Autry National Center on Saturday, March 6, 2010.

"It's an honor to be chosen by the college as Silver Spur honorees," said Gary Condie, founder and president/CEO of Condie & Wood, CPAs. "When you look over the list of prior honorees, you see how important these people have been to the college and to the community."

Local Man Dies In Lamborghini Accident

A 47 year-old man was killed Sunday afternoon in an accident involving his 2006 Lamborghini. According to the California Highway Patrol, Payman Engheta of Stevenson Ranch was driving the sports car on Bouquet Canyon Road near the Big Oaks Lodge at about 40 miles per hour when he lost control coming out of a curve.

The Lamborghini began to spin and collided with a tree on the driver's side. Engheta was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County emergency personnel before being airlifted to Providence Holy Cross, where he succumbed to his injuries.

CIF Soccer, Basketball Playoffs Begin This Week

sportslocalThe CIF Southern Section playoffs in soccer begin today with the Saugus boys in the wild-card round and the Saugus girls preparing for a chance to repeat as Division 2 champions.

The Saugus girls soccer team, the reigning CIF Southern Section Division 2 champions, will open the 2010 playoffs on Friday. Saugus, the Foothill League champs, await the winner of the Arcadia-Palmdale wild-card game.

Missing Newhall Boy Returns Home-UPDATED

A Newhall boy that went missing from Thursday through Sunday has returned home safely. On Thursday, he had failed to show up after a basketball game and his father filed a missing persons report with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's station.

Hart High student Ali Hajimohamed, 14, was nowhere to be found when his father, Aziz, went to pick him up after the game.

 

Sheriff's officials said he had run away on at least one previous occasion.
